My first introduction to the concept of polyamory came from "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress", if I remember correctly.
What stops me from dismissing polyamory as a deviant behaviour is the reasoning in that book: women were in smaller numbers, so they did as they pleased.
And if a group of grown-ups can't do as they please, what's the point of calling oneself a grown-up?
