A daughter finds her family

Cecilia Yvonne Torbett Perez is still pinching herself. Before March of this year, the 39-year-old had spent more than three decades wondering about her roots. She yearned to know more about her father, from whom she was separated while still an infant. And even though she was raised in Colorado, where she eventually formed her own family, she couldn't help but feel some emptiness in her past. A connection was missing, she says, and it hurt.
