Care homes scandal: Abused. Bullied. Confined. Drugged.

The study should extend to care homes for the elderly. Although I am no authority on the extent of the problem, having worked in one, what I witnessed wasn't pretty. I had to take actions against some staff members but the lack of interest or support in a first account witness statement of clear physical and mental abuse against a resident without provocation was shocking. Nothing was done even though it was acknowledged that the same problem had been reported referring to these same members of staff.

The most horrifying thing was that the generation I was looking after was the same that fought or supported the fight against the Nazi Regime in WWII.

If we do not address the problem now, we might live long enough to regret it when we end up there ourselves. Regardless, all abuse of any human being should be stopped.
