the U.S. and the British governments haven't condemned Israel beause Israel hasn't done anything wrong. also, remember, the U.N. hasn't condemned Israel either.

I love how the UN comes into favor and goes out of favor with Neocons depending on the situation. The hyporcracy is glaring and goes to further discredit the irrational, mindless neocon administration in the minds of the rational people of the world.

Jallahbad,

What conservatives do is praise when the UN are right and scorn with they are wrong. A definite difference. You could say the same thing about liberals and the media, they praise them for revealing state secrets but condemn them for being to right leaning. Or liberals and the courts, they praise the supreme court with hamdan but condemn with the 2000 election. Its all relative to your view of the world.

Also, to say the UN hasn't condemned Israel is pretty far from the truth. There are elements of the British government that have condemned Israel, and although spineless, Blair was also not supportive of recent atrocities commited.

It seems wrong to me to warn civilians to evacuate while bombing the highways that are the only way out.

I'm not a huge fan of the UN no matter who it scolds or supports. They're entirely too wishy-washy for me to put any positive stock into.

Thank goodness that some people are protesting the destruction of Palestine and Lebanon by war criminal Israeli state terrorism. This catastrophe commenced in Gaza after the Israelis kidnapped a Palestinian doctor and his brother a month ago, and some Palestinians responded by kidnapping one Israeli soldier; it commenced in Lebanon after Israeli forces invaded Lebanese territory and Hezbollah captured 2 Israeli soldiers.

The Israeli respponse has been overwhelmingly disproportionate: about 700 Palestinian or Lebanese civilians have been killed, ten times that number wounded, 0.5 million made homeless, the economy and infrastructure of both Gaza and Lebanon - critical for human survival - substantially destroyed and it is predicted that tens of thousands will now die from disease and deprivation as a result. About 35 Israelis have died associated with this escalation of violence by the US- and UK-backed Israeli Government.

The "death ratio" of Gaza & Lebanon civilian deaths"/Israeli deaths is about 700/35 = 20, TWICE the "death ratio" of "civilian executions"/"German military deaths" ordered by Nazi leader Adolph Hitler in 1994 and carried out in the Ardeatine Caves Massacre in March 1944 in Nazi-occupied Italy.

Before the Israeli state terrorist escalation, seven (7) Palestinian Childen werw dying avoidably every day due to Israeli war crimes. If we include this "baseline" of about 200 deaths, the "Arab civilian"?"israeli" death ratio becaomes 900/35 = 26, about 3 times greater than the "Allied civilian deaths"/"Axis military deaths" ratio of 9 in World War 2.

What is appalling for me as an Australian is that the Australian, American and Canadaian Governments support Israel's action which involves the deliberate targetting and bombing and shelling of cvilians (a war crime under the Geneva Convention) - and 25,000 Australians, 25,000 Americans and 40,000 Canadians are still cowering under the bombing and shelling by war criminal Israeli state terroism.

I can't talk for Americans or Canadians, but any Australian who supports the criminal, terrorist bombing and shelling of Australian citizens is a traitor and a terrorist sympathizer.

Australians, Americans and Canadians should demand that their Governments demand the cessation of the war criminal, bombing and shelling of their own citizens - and of the other citizens of Gaza and Lebanon (50% of whom are Children for goodness' sake, and 75% are Women and Children).

People who ignore, support or engage in horrendous abuse of Women and Children - or indeed of anyone - have crossed the line between decent humanity and Nazi-style barbarity. Zionism (intrinsically racist and colonialist and in violation of the Jewish Torah and 3 millennia of humanitarian Jewish tradition) has transmuted into racist Ultrazionism in racist Apartheid Israel over 4 decades of illegal Occcupation and Ethnic Cleansing (there are about 6 million Palestinian refugees in the Middle East; most Chrisitan Arabs have been forced out of the West Bank) and has now become bloody Zionazism as we witness the genocidal destruction of Palestine and Lebaanon (see: http://mwcnews.net/content/view/8219/26/ ).

The people of the world condemn Israel, the United States and their active as well as passive supporters for an unprovoked attack on humanity and the commission of war crimes.

Will the people of the world get around to condeming Sudan anytime soon, or is it too low profile because it doesn't involve the United States or Israel? Does it even matter if they do get around to it?

It is ludicrous to say that the UN did not condemn this. How hypocritical? Didn't you veto (the only one who vetoed!) the call for ceasefire?

Ceasefires involve both sides.

You people are the real terrorists here.

Oh yeah I blow up people all the time...
