By now most all know that the thought of two women engaged in love making is one of men's most tantalizing fantasies, but recent media and public attention has shown that it is a growing fantasy in women as well. But is lesbian love really sex?

typical male jackass-ery:
It's only "hot sex" if it's between certain women (i.e., cheerleaders, pornstars, etc.). The thought of my 5th grade teacher (or Rosie O'Donnell) getting anything on with anyone makes me cringe, and throw up a little.

Recently, there's been lots of publicity of lesbian love and lesbian lovers such as Queen Latifah...
Queen Latifah's gay?

Interesting. Like Marlene Dietrich, the image may be far more important than the reality.

I dont think Queen Latifah has come out and said she is gay. Because she is so private about her personal life speculation is that she is gay.

Women are, at a minimum, 25% lesbian. This is because women are beautiful and they smell nice and men are hairy and smell like we smell. So it's a lot easier for women to be attracted to other women than for me to look at some guy's hairy ass and think, "I gotta get me some of that."
Is it sex? The rule on that is to always ask your wife. Or her to ask you. Or significant other, as the case may be. I am betting that will be a big, fat yes.
And that article, sparse as it is ( Irma, you could write a better article in your sleep -- so get on it ) pretty much does say Queen Latifah is gay. That's rare. I didn't even know there could be gay black women ... I just never see it.
Andrew, I live in the Frisco metro area and, I have to tell you, they all look like your 5th grade teacher.

Agreed. Here's your working title -- Lesbian Sex: Just How Awesome Is It?

But women are moody, cry too much and get crazy over stupid stuff. I could never be involved with one that wasn't part of a package deal. LOL

This scene from Dogma just sprung to mind, and I couldn't resist:
Liz: You need to get laid, Bethany Slone. You need a man . . . if only for ten minutes.
Bethany: It's been my experience that the average male is never a man, not even for ten minutes in his entire lifespan.
Liz: That sounds a little bit militant. Are you thinking of joining the other side?
Bethany: Couldn't do it . . . women are insane.
:-D

Hot Sex or Not Sex
How many lesbians would bother to question this at all? Isn't it more about a male perception? Can't we look at lesbians without that male gaze?

Can't we look at lesbians without that male gaze?
no, probably not. unless the lesbians we're talking about are the afore-mentioned fifth grade teachers slash Rosie O'Donnell, in which case we can simply not look altogether.

Hot sex.
Also teaches women to not associate sex primarily with men--which leads to developing the ability to disassociate sex with love. Or disassociate love with men.
Regardless of the path, the more disassociation between things which are not the same, the better. (Afterwards, one can always reassociate them, document the process, and call it Art).
